How to entertain yourself during a power outage
There’s nothing worse than a power outage, except for being unprepared for it. You should always prepare for a power outage by making sure that your home and/or business have a standby or portable generator. When you have a generator at your residential or commercial property you can rest assured that you always have a backup, otherwise we all know that a power outage is coming sooner or later. Unfortunately, most of us know how draining a power outage can be, not only does it literally drain our power but it leaves us running around with our head cut off. How do we fix this? ENTERTAINMENT!
Here are a few fun ways to entertain yourself during a power outage:
- Make shadow puppets. All you need is a flashlight or a light and let the best puppet master win!
- No time like the present to play 20 questions! Think of an object, and let the others figure it out by asking you 20 questions. May let the best player win.
- Get in the car and go on an adventure. Why sit around waiting for power to come back on in your area? If location and timing work out, why not explore. You can also just go on a walk someplace too.
- Tell ghost stories. Scary stories, funny stories, ghost stories – it doesn’t really matter what kind, any sort of story that can provide entertainment is a benefit.
- Go star gazing. This obviously only works at night
- Exercise. Get off your butt – run a lap, do some sit-ups, whatever it takes to get things done, get it done!
- Karaoke. It’s time to belt out your finest. Whether you play songs on a battery operated radio or player, your phone or just decide to go without music – there’s no time like the present to have some fun with songs.
- Read a book. Go. Read. A. Book. Use a flashlight if necessary.
- Clean your house, Seriously. What’s your excuse now? J
- Lights Off, Pants Off, Dance party! Sure you don’t need to take your pants off, but it def makes things more fun. We suggest you try it.
